Lochgelly Albert

Junior Football Club

Honours List

For anyone new to the Lochgelly Albert Junior Football Club, you could be forgiven for believing that we have never won any tournament or any cup. Which, sadly, is true for the last few years, but hasn't always been the case. However, The Albert has been around as a club for a good long while. Since 1926, in fact, as an amateur team and subsequently a junior team. So the club has been here for longer than most, if not all, of it's fans.

Lochgelly Albert Junior Football Club has had a chequered history. Some great moments and some absolutely dismal times. Here we shall dwell on the better moments in a long footballing history.

Record Attendance 11,645 versus Boness United 13th March 1946 Scottish Cup 6th Round

For anybody familiar with the club's Gardiners Park ground, you will realise just what a staggering figure the above attendance represents. There is no stand and no seating, only an area of embankment all around the pitch. It must have been unbelievably crowded.
